Quiero Creedence
($75 pledge)

Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of favorite bands from the 60's and 70's.
I still make a point of playing CCR on Tangents as much of their music still sounds fresh and relevant.
Quiero Creedence is an outstanding tribute album with brilliantly creative interpretations by Latino artists.
During the opening Americana tinged hour of Tangents I would guess Quiero Creedence has been the most played album since its release.
Artists range from Los Lobos and Columbian Diamante Eléctrico to Oakland's Bang Data.
Even ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons shows up as he teams up with La Marisoul for a killer version of "Green River".

Diwan of Beauty and Odd
($75 pledge)

This is hands down my favorite album of the last year.
Tunisian oudist and vocalist Dhafer Youssef for the first time recorded with all NY based musicians
including Oakland born rising star trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire.
The results are magnificent. The moods vary from gorgeous melodic pieces to Dhafer oud grooving like no other.
Above all this is filled with masterful playing and emotion.
Dhafer's voice is an instrument that can whisper or scream. His voice can make a stone cry.
An album not to be missed if you are a fan of Middle Eastern music or cross-pollinating jazz.
