Superlative Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives Way Out West (N) Way Out West
Tangents CD Thank You gift:

Way Out West ($75 pledge)

Marty Stuart and his terrific band traverses from country to surf to Byrds inspired tunes all in masterful fashion.
The title track, Way Out West, became an instant Tangents classic and likely is the most played song this year.
Way Out West is a trippy, country noir and I recommend you check out the spellbinding video.
I got a chance to see these guys earlier in the year at the Freight which cemented my love for the band.
Marty is the real deal, even his bloodlines. His father-in-law was Johnny Cash for a brief time.
Thanks to long time Tangents listener Freddy Hahne for turning me on to Marty Stuart.

Duo Sabîl (Sabil is Arabic for 'path') is an extraordinary oud and percussion collaboration between
Ahmad Al Khatib (oud) and Yousef Hbeisch (percussion).
These Palestinian artists display exquisite chemistry.
Some of the songs are augmented by the presence of double bass and buzuq which is unusual.
The music is rooted in Arabic tradition but with freedom to explore thru improvisation.
This is an instrumental tour de force and my favorite Middle Eastern cd this year. The cd package includes a booklet.
